M&S brings sales update forward

Marks & Spencer is bringing its next sales update forward by a month rousing fears that the retailer will report another poor set of results this autumn.

Marks & Spencer will report its second quarter sales on October 2, ahead of its November 4, half-year trading update.

M&S told The Daily Mail it was rushing out the second quarter release early "given the uncertain economic climate."

The move will ramp up fears that Marks & Spencer is suffering difficult trading as the consumer spending slowdown gets worse.
