M&S director of menswear heads down under to Country Road

Scott Fyfe, director of menswear and kidswear at Marks & Spencer, has been appointed as chief executive of Country Road Group, the Australian subsidiary of South Africa-based Woolworth Holdings.

He replaces Matt Keogh, who is resigning from the firm to pursue new career opportunities.

Fyfe has spent 20 years at M&S in a variety of roles across buying, merchandising and sourcing. He took on additional responsibility for kidswear alongside his existing brief of menswear in May this year and became trading director for menswear in November 2012.

He spent a year as trading director for womenswear prior to that and has also held the roles of commercial and operations director, director of sourcing and trading director for kidswear.

“Scott will leave with our thanks and best wishes,” said a spokeswoman for M&S. “He has had a great career at M&S and we understand that this was an opportunity too good for him to turn down.”

Drapers understands the menswear and kidswear teams will report to the director of home Michael Kerr on an interim basis, until a replacement is appointed.

Fyfe will start his role in early 2017.
