Marks & Spencer hires digital director

Marks & Spencer has named Dixons Carphone customer director Victoria Self as its new digital director of clothing, home and food.

Self will join the retailer in late January 2018, reporting to executive director for customer, marketing and website, Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne.

She joined Carphone Warehouse as online director in 2009. Before that she worked at Urban Outfitters Europe as ecommerce director from 2007 for two years, and headed up ecommerce operations at Mothercare for seven years from 2000.

The news comes after Drapers reported a further restructuring at M&S’s fashion team is expected, with sources indicating that the retailer does not plan to replace outgoing director for clothing and beauty Jo Jenkins.

It is understood that M&S will instead appoint directors for the different fashion departments, reporting into managing director of clothing and home Jill McDonald, who joined from Halfords in September.
