M&S menswear line Collezione's future in doubt

Marks & Spencer’s men’s formalwear brand Collezione is under review and could be axed, Drapers understands.

One source told Drapers the retailer was planning to remove Collezione from one of its large London stores to test reaction.

Another source said M&S has previously considered changing the brand’s name to Inspired by Italy or merging it into the Luxury collection.

An M&S spokesperson said: “We are continually looking at how we can strengthen our sub-brands for customers. However, we would not comment on rumour and speculation about our future brand activity.”

Collezione used to be called I Italian, but the name was changed in 2005 after Birmingham Magistrates’ Court ruled it misled customers into thinking it was manufactured solely in Italy rather than a combination of countries including Lithuania, India and Egypt.

  • Sounds like a folded over pizza. Wears moderately better.
