Marks & Spencer has confirmed Stephanie Chen’s appointment as director of kidswear and home, revealing further changes to the general merchandising team.
Drapers exclusively revealed this morning that Chen had been poached from her role as executive director of womenswear, fashion accessories and lingerie at House of Fraser.
M&S this evening has unveiled further changes to its team, including the promotion of Scott Fyfe to the role of director of menswear from his role as trading director of womenswear merchandising and planning.
As a result, kidswear director Karl Doyle will step down from his position in March 2013 to pursue opportunities outside the company. Home director Damian Guha will also continue until that point, when he will move to a new role at M&S.
Executive director of general merchandise John Dixon said: “We are delighted to be attracting retailers like Stephanie to the General Merchandise team. Her skills and experience, combined with our considerable internal talent, will help to drive our clothing and home business forward.”
Chief executive Marc Bolland added: “The appointments of Stephanie and Scott show that we are building a great team of key internal and external talent. With John and Belinda Earl, they will work together to improve our GM business.”
