Mulberry appoints Céline designer as new creative director

Mulberry has appointed Johnny Coca, head designer for leather goods and accessories at Céline its new creative director, succeeding Emma Hill.

Coca, who will join Mulberry on July 8 2015 will be responsible for all of Mulberry’s collections, reporting to Godfrey Davis, chairman and chief executive.

Davis said Coca, who was widely tipped as the frontrunner for the role, has a “wealth of international luxury and fashion experience that will help bring new energy and innovation to Mulberry.”

Former creative director Emma Hill, credited with turning the firm into a globally recognised brand, departed in June last year after six years with the brand.
