Mulberry set to open store on London’s Regent Street

Mulberry is understood to be taking some of the space at the former Austin Reed store on London’s Regent Street.

The luxury accessories brand already has a flagship store on New Bond Street and other London stores in Covent Garden, Brompton Road, and St Christopher’s Place, as well as Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City.

A source confirmed that Mulberry is under offer to take some of the former 23,500 sq ft Austin Reed store, which was sold back to its long leaseholder Hermes earlier this year after the tailoring firm entered administration.

Mulberry declined to comment.

Yesterday Drapers reported that Mulberry has slipped into the red after investing more in new products and suffering a hit from additional foreign exchange costs on overseas subsidiaries.
