Peacocks revamps site in online push

Value chain Peacocks has relaunched its website.

The retailer, which had sales of £490.4m in the year to March 28, 2009, has doubled the number of lines it sells via its transactional site and now offers all the categories that are available in its stores. It has also launched kidswear and babywear online.

The revamped site features lifestyle imagery, improved functionality and simplified navigation with refined searches and easy click-through from product to checkout. It also enables customers to style a mannequin with their choice of product.

The site will also stock a larger collection of the Pearl Lowe for Peacocks range than any of its stores from May 13.

The relaunch mirrors rival New Look’s relaunch of its website last month and follows a 90% leap in sales generated online by over the year to January 10.

Peacocks managing director Tim Bettley said: “Our aim is for Peacocks to be the UK’s number one value fashion retailer and ensure our online shopping experience is as entertaining and user-friendly as in our stores.”
