Sainsbury’s has extended its collaboration with TV presenter Gok Wan for another year, after his Gok for Tu range became the retailer’s most successful celebrity clothing partnership ever.
Alongside Sainsbury’s in house team Wan will develop five new capsule collections throughout the next 12 months. He is involved in the process from sketches and sourcing to manufacturing and marketing.
Wan said: “From day one we’ve developed designs and turned them into gorgeous garments that millions of women love wearing. I can’t wait for the forthcoming year and to see what reaction my current autumn and forthcoming winter collections receive.”
The range runs from size 8 to 22, with prices for the fifth collection- which landed in the shops on October 4 - ranging from £20 for a top to £65 for a trench coat.
Gok for Tu has helped Sainsbury’s outperform the clothing market, with the retailer’s fashion division growing 17% year on year - exceeding its food arm.
James Brown, head of clothing for Sainsbury’s, said: “The collaboration with Gok Wan resonates perfectly with our customers and we are delighted to work with Gok for another year on five more collections.”
