MySale to relocate head office to UK

International flash Sales site MySale is relocating its global head office to London as part of “aggressive expansion plans” to move outside of Australasia and South East Asia.

The company, which is currently based in Sydney, is looking for office space in the West End ahead of the launch of its UK website in June. The retailer has already established a new 60,000 sq ft distribution centre in Corby where it will receive excess stock from retailers and deliver direct to consumers.

The move is expected to create more than 100 jobs, primarily in Corby.

MySale, which sells retailers’ excess stock at a discount to its 10 million members, currently operates in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.

From its expanded operating infrastructure in Britain and elsewhere globally the retailer has ambitious plans to penetrate the UK, US, Hong Kong and Korea.

MySale co-founder and chairman Jamie Jackson said London would become the heart of the global business as it sought to become synonymous globally with online off-price fashion.

He told Drapers: “London is the centre of the global fashion industry; this town is really on fire. Our focus is to gain a really strong presence here”.

The company, which was originally named OzSale, is preparing to launch a site in North America later this month after appointing teams of buyers to find opportunities in the US market through newly-opened offices in Los Angeles and New York.
