Net-a-Porter names vice president of global buying

Womenswear etailer Net-a-Porter has appointed Sarah Rutson as vice president of global buying from January 12, 2015.

The former fashion director of luxury Asian department store Lane Crawford in Hong Kong will be based in New York and report to Net-a-Porter president Alison Loehnis.

In the newly created role, Rutson will seek to expand the designers and brands currently available on site as its looks grow its customer base, which currently spreads across 170 countries. In 2012, The Sunday Telegraph listed her as one of the 25 most powerful people in fashion.

Net-a-Porter’s Natalie Massenet and Mark Sebba recently picked up Fashion Retailing Personalities of the Year at the The Drapers Awards 2014.
