Net-a-Porter is to launch its own shoppable social platform app that allows users to interact with and buy products on mobile devices.
Net Set will go live on May 13 and allows users to comment on and recommend items and content to friends, as well as upload and share images of themselves wearing items.
It also uses image recognition software to find the closest match of any product scanned in Net-A-Porter’s inventory and make it available for purchase.
Each designer stocked on Net-a-Porter, including the likes of Valentino, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, will be given their own brand portal, where they will be able to interact with shoppers.
The app has been confirmed for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch devices and will initially launch with an invite code.
