New artistic boss at Cerruti

Top-end Italian tailoring and casualwear brand Cerruti has promoted Cerruti 1881 designer Jean Paul Knott to the role of artistic director of its Cerruti women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections

Replacing Nicolas Taralis, he will oversee design for both Cerruti and Cerruti 1881. His first Cerruti range will be unveiled in February for autumn 08.

A priority will be to grow Cerruti’s UK wholesale account base in a bid to revive the popularity enjoyed by the brand in its 1980s heyday.
Knott’s background includes spells designing at Louis Feraud, Krizia and Yves Saint Laurent.

Knott declined to reveal the details of his first Cerruti autumn range. The womenswear line is scheduled to debut at Paris Fashion Week in February. A menswear catwalk show is yet to be confirmed.

UK buyers can view the womenswear line in the London showrooms and the menswear line in the Milan or Paris showrooms by appointment.
