New boss joins IC Companys

Danish brand house IC Companys has appointed Esprit’s Niels Mikkelsen as chief executive, replacing Henrik Theilbjørn, who will leave the group in August.
Mikkelsen, who starts on August 1, was Nordic country manager for Esprit’s sub-brand Esprit de Corp.

Theilbjørn, who has headed an extensive turnaround at IC Companys since 2004, supported Mikkelsen’s appointment. He said: “After a significant internal and external tightening during the past three years, it is right to get a man on board who has worked with several distribution platforms, and been involved in streamlining those platforms.”

Chief financial officer Chris Bigler has also been made a member of the executive board.

IC Companys’ brands include Matinique, InWear, Jackpot and Tiger of Sweden. It sells to more than 40 countries, and has 281 stores in 13 countries.

Group turnover for the year to June 30 2006 was DKK3.02 billion (£319 million).
