New chief executive as profits dive at Instore

Discount retailer Instore has appointed former Thorntons chief executive Peter Burdon to the same role, replacing Trevor Coates with immediate effect. The business reported pre-tax losses of £9.1 million for the year to February 24, compared with profits last year of £3.3m. Overall sales rose by 4.3% to £280.1m.
