New categories have been introduced to this year’s Drapers Awards and some dropped or renamed in an overhaul of the event by editorial director Eric Musgrave.
Best Department Store, Best Fashion Retail Employer and Fashion Pure-play Etailer are all new categories.
The Fashion Retail Business award for smaller retailers is now open to those with a turnover of up to £125m rather than £50m. The sister award, which is open for retailers with a turnover above £125m, is sponsored by logistics company Clipper.
Manufacturer of the Year, sponsored by Fashion & Retail Personnel, is now called Supplier of the Year.
The International Fashion Business of the Year, sponsored by Kerry Logistics, has been renamed International Fashion Retailer to underline that, as with most of the Drapers Awards, it is not open to pure-play etailers, who have their own awards event in the spring.
The Advertising Campaign of the Year is now the Marketing Campaign. The Inspiring Retail Leader category has been renamed Fashion Retailing Personality of the Year and is sponsored by executive recruitment firm Heidrick & Struggles.
The categories for Concession Business, Growing Retailer, Retail Destination, Merchandising Team, Buying Team, Fashion Retail Website, In-house Recruitment Team, and Independent Retailer have been dropped.
The deadline for entries has been extended to 5 September. The black tie dinner for the awards will be held on November 21 at Old Billingsgate in the City of London.
