New Look has signed a deal to open a 3,500 sq ft menswear store in Newcastle’s Intu Metrocentre, in a move that will “break the mould” of their retail sites.
The announcement signals the latest in a spate of recent store signings for New Look, with sites in Reading, Romford and Hounslow confirmed earlier this week.
However, the latest store will be much larger than any of its other menswear stores, which all measure around 2,000 sq ft. New Look hopes to open all four stores in the next three to four months, according to a spokesman.
He added that Newcastle was chosen as the site of the biggest store because it fits with the company’s aim of partnering stores with the top 150 retail sites in the country, with the city’s Metro Centre being among the top candidates.
New Look is on target to meet its aim of opening 20 new stores by the end of March 2017.
Drapers revealed earlier this week that the retailer is set to open in Bolton, following recent openings at Intu Potteries in Stoke on Trent and Bluewater shopping centre in Kent.
