New Look Men will open its fifth store in Kingston upon Thames early next year.
The 1,800sq ft store will be located in the Bentall Centre and is expected to open at the end of February.
The new store follows openings at the Grand Arcade in Wigan and the Cascades shopping centre in Portsmouth on September 23, at the Merry Hill shopping centre in Birmingham on October 7, and at Intu Trafford Centre in Manchester on October 9.
New Look has confirmed plans to open at least 10 more men’s standalone stores by the end of next year. Chief financial officer Mike Iddon told Drapers last month that the four existing stores are performing “exceptionally well”.
New Look sells menswear in around 175 of its existing 569 UK stores but the menswear standalone stores represent a greater focus on what it sees as a growing market.
Christopher Englinde joined New Look as menswear director from his role as H&M menswear chief operating officer in September. He said there is an opportunity to expand New Look’s menswear business overseas, where it has more than 200 stores across Europe and Asia.
