New Look promotes internally for buying, merchandising and design director

New Look has promoted internally for its buying, merchandising and design director role, which was left vacant by Carolyn Mackenzie who left the business after 10 years at the end of last year.

Emma Worley, who has been head of buying, merchandising and design since August 2011, has been promoted to the position.

She was previously head of fashion buying at Laura Ashley from January 2006 to July 2011 and a buyer at Allders from October 1993 to February 2005.

Mackenzie left to become brand director at Australia-based womenswear retailer Forever New, which is co-owned by New Look owner Tom Singh and Dipendra Goenka, who runs it with his wife Amanda Goenka.
