New names at Victoria Quarter in Leeds

Mulberry and Church's are among the new names to open stores at the Victoria Quarter in Leeds.

Mulberry will open a 1,180 sq ft unit in County Arcade in May. This opening will be followed by the launch of a Church's luxury footwear store in the same arcade in June. Church's has taken a 1,437sq ft unit.

Meanwhile Vivienne Westwood is to double the size of its Leeds store in the summer and Reiss has signed an 800sq ft store opposite its existing unit for an accessories standalone.

Arrogant Cat opened its first store outside of London in the Victoria Quarter this month.

John Bade, Victoria Quarter centre director said: "These latest openings continue a trend of high profile brands coming to the centre, following on from the likes of Paul Smith, Nicky Clarke, Louis Vuitton, B+R and Agent Provocateur. I think they reflect a confidence not only in the VQ, but also in Leeds and the wider region."

"Like all in retail we're pray to the vagaries of the market, although I'm pleased that the centre does seem to be bucking the downward trend lately," Bade added.
