New retail development in Camden to launch

Plans have been unveiled for a 580,000 sq ft retail, leisure and housing development in Camden, London.

Hawley Wharf will be opened by LabTech, which owns Camden Markets, in summer 2019.

It will encompass 150 independent and branded stores, over 60 food and drink offerings, 195 apartments, and 60,000 sq ft of co-working space.

Hawley Wharf will make use of 30 existing railway arches as well as constructing new buildings inspired by the area’s historic warehouses. The area will border Chalk Farm Road, Regent’s Canal and Camden High Street.

Over 1,000 jobs will be created by the new site and visitor numbers to Camden are expected to increase from 30 million to 50 million per year by 2020.

Colliers International has been appointed to lead commercial leasing for the development.
