Next close to signing on Oxford Street Plaza store

Next is reportedly close to signing a deal to move into a 60,000 sq ft store at the Plaza Shopping Centre at 120 Oxford Street.

The retailer is believed to be negotiating a rent of around £4.5m a year for the east Oxford street store, according to Property Week, and plans to occupy in 2017 or 2018, coinciding with the opening of the nearby Crossrail station at Tottenham Court Road.

In January Next moved out of its nearby 34,500 sq ft store at 201-203 Oxford Street, which is now home to JD’s new flagship.

Cushman & Wakefield, which is understood to be acting on behalf of the shopping centre’s owner Sirosa, declined to comment.
