Next extends lease at Romford’s Liberty centre

UK retailer Next has agreed an additional five-year lease on its unit at the Liberty shopping centre in Romford.

The store measures 16,500 sq ft.

Cosgrave Property Group, which owns the shopping centre, has also signed new lease and lease renewal deals with pharmacy chain Boots, optical company Vision Express, health food retailer Holland & Barrett, telecoms provider 3 UK and doughnut company Krispy Kreme.

Head of commercial property Ronan Rooney said: “The Liberty’s attraction for major brands remains robust because it is a heart-of-town centre with a substantial regional draw.

“Annual footfall is nearly 20 million for The Liberty and Romford itself has been at the forefront of business and residential growth. With the anticipated arrival of Crossrail in 2019 that significant growth is likely to continue.”
