Nick Samuel joins knitwear brand N.Peal

N.Peal cashmere, the knitwear brand, has appointed former Hobbs chief executive Nick Samuel as non-executive director.

N.Peal was founded in 1936 by Norman Peal, and has traded from its boutique in London’s Burlington Arcade for more than 70 years.

Samuel has been appointed to advise the brand on its growth strategy.

Adam Holdsworth, managing director of N.Peal said: “Nick brings a wealth of retail experience. We are very fortunate to have him on board”.

Holdsworth and business partner Nick Falkingham bought and then relaunched the N.Peal brand in 2007.

Like-for-like sales during 2009 grew by 34% at the N.Peal Burlington Arcade store and total company turnover increased from £1.4million to £3.5m.

Samuel, who was also finance director of womenswear chain Karen Millen, took up the post at N. Peal this month.

Hopefully we will see some interesting new styles and some update in their business with a bigger range and sizes.
