The online survey was completed by 290 businesses. Just 4.3% expressed a desire to leave, 2.4% were undecided and 2.8% stated they did not plan to vote.

The figures from the fashion world are in stark contrast to polls open to the public, in which the “leave” side currently holds an average two-point lead across all polls.

A number of top designers, including Christopher Raeburn and Patrick Grant, also spoke out in favour of staying in the EU at London Collections Men last week.
