Nine West appoints new CEO

Footwear firm Nine West has appointed Joel Oblonsky as chief executive of the Nine West and Bandolino division.

It’s a return to the business for Oblonsky, who held a variety of management roles within Nine West Group between 1991 and 2004, including the position of president of Bandolino from 1999 to 2003.

Oblonsky most recently served as president of Ralph Lauren’s Polo and Lauren footwear brands and president of Lauren accessories. He left Ralph Lauren in September after 10 years.

Ralph Schipani, interim chief executive of Nine West Holdings, said: “Joel has a deep understanding of operations and strategy, bringing two decades of senior leadership experience in footwear and accessories. We believe Joel is a great fit for Nine West and Bandolino given his familiarity with our brands and his track record of profitably growing businesses.”
