Oasis appoints first commercial director

Oasis has appointed its first commercial director in the form of Tim Cooke, who spent the first 20 years of his career at Marks & Spencer and is currently general manager of merchandising at Australian retailer Target.

Oasis V&A concept

Cooke joins the high street chain on April 25 and will be responsible for driving the stock optimisation strategy across the company, focusing on space and ranging, financial and commercial planning, allocation and replenishment.

He will be accountable for inventory management across the brand’s own channels, as well as franchise and wholesale.

Cooke joined Target in December 2014 and has been responsible for developing and driving the merchandising transformation strategy.

He previously worked at M&S for more than 20 years, starting as a kidswear merchandiser in 1994. He held several roles after that, including head of merchandising for women’s footwear and accessories, head of merchandising for lingerie and beauty and head of merchandising for M&S.com.

Oasis chief executive Liz Evans said he brings a ”wealth” of experience and “will be an instrumental member of the team as we continue to grow across all channels”.
