Oasis heads upmarket for spring 09

Oasis has unveiled a dramatic pared down, minimal look for its spring 09 collection, as it looks to reposition itself as a premium, upmarket brand.

The spring 09 collection includes a boxy 1980s silhouette which incorporates over-sized tailored mannish jackets worn with crop peg trousers. Graphic prints punctuate the collection adding a painterly quality applied through brush strokes and sketchy lines.

The range is designed to put more clear space between Oasis and the likes of River Island and Warehouse.

Oasis said: "This season brings together a clean, pared down collection with a focus on fit and quality, cleanness of line and purity of form. A softer, more rounded mood redefines the seasons’ silhouette and shape to create a minimal look for spring, whilst design influences are imbedded in modernity with architectural shapes softened by modern fabrics."

Oasis also launched a new shop fit to support its repositioning at Westfield London shopping centre last month. View the store here.
