Oasis to feature mannequin technology in revamped Meadowhall store

Oasis will open its refurbished store in Meadowhall shopping centre, Sheffield on Friday (September 11) which will enable shoppers to get information on, and buy, products displayed on shop window mannequins using their smartphones.

Oasis said it would trial the “omni-channel” VMBeacon technology from Iconeme in the store as part of its commitment to improve the store experience across its shops.

The 1,500 sq ft store revamp will feature the retailer’s House of Oasis interior design concept.

Oasis chief operating officer Hash Ladha said: “As part of a multi-million pound refit programme, Oasis is committed to upgrading our stores nationwide to completely enhance the customer experience.”

Oasis is the latest retailer to use mannequin technology. Department stores Hosue of Fraser and Bentalls launched similar technology last month in their Aberdeen and Kingston upon Thames stores respectively, as has shirt retailer Hawes & Curtis in a London store.
