Off the Record

King of the jungle

Action Apparal managing director Alan Strang seemed very chuffed with himself at Pure last week, crowning himself king of its Chilli Pepper brand. Maybe it was because he was so on trend - it was animal prints all the way, from his shoes to his throne.

Pure gets a pizza the action

Visitors were queueing to get into Pure's after-party at Pizza Express near London's Olympia. Among the party-goers were Suzanne Shew and Michael Lambourne from footwear brand Bourne (1), Steven Sin and Adrian Chapman from Omygod (2), and Miro Radici's Stephen Laundy and Greg Tufnell (3). Pure sales manager for accessories Vicky Ogden cut a dash with A21's Josh Collins (4), while a potential new trend turned out to be the pizza chefs letting their hair down (5).

Painted ladies

For some visitors at Pure the clothing was just a little plain. Luckily, illustrator Ben Warwick was on hand at denim brand Nozomi to add a splash of colour to its styles, including the armband of brand manager Christina Christie.

The Dane event

Making the most of the Inwear party in Copenhagen last week, Drapers senior fashion writer Leanne O'Shea bumped into Ted Baker export manager Dean West (1), while advertising manager Lucy Walsh rubbed shoulders with House of Fraser menswear buyer Pablo Sueiras (2).
