Olivier Strelli debuts in Birmingham

Belgian label Olivier Strelli is scouting for further locations after opening its first UK shop in Birmingham this month.

The 1,000 sq ft store at The Mailbox sells men's and women's formalwear and casualwear, as well as accessories. The shop is run by franchisee Cosmopolito, which will look for other locations in the UK and Republic of Ireland for the brand.

Cosmopolito co-owner Cameron Thach said: "The brand has a big distribution in other parts of Europe and we think the time is right to bring it to the UK. If this store is successful, we will look at other locations to open upmarket boutique stores. There are no plans to wholesale at the moment but it's possible in the future."

Retail prices are slightly below Emporio Armani, with women's and men's suits at about £500, men's shirts from £75 to £110 and women's coats from £350 to £500. Footwear is about £100.

Olivier Strelli will also launch an online store in the spring. It has more than 100 shops in Europe, Canada and the US.

- Jaeger will open a new store at The Mailbox on March 1. The 3,000 sq ft shop is twice the size of its previous Mailbox unit.
