One True Saxon boss joins Realm & Empire

Former One True Saxon managing director Richard Robinson has joined Realm & Empire, tasked with propelling the menswear brand into international markets.

Robinson has joined as brand director and will be looking to cement its presence in premium UK retailers. Realm & Empire has 20 stockists, but Robinson said he hopes to expand this to 100 within a couple of years.

The military-inspired contemporary menswear brand has a small presence in Russia and Hong Kong, but Robinson said he would also target the US, Scandinavia and the Benelux region.

He added there is a “gap in the market” for a brand with a strong historical and military heritage. “The look is very key in the US,” he said. Realm & Empire, which launched in spring 12, has a partnership with the Imperial War Museum, which gives it access to its archive.

Robinson was most recently a brand consultant at pop-up mall Boxpark. Prior to that he was at One True Saxon and buying controller of JD Sports Fashion-owned young fashion chain Scotts.
