Like-for-like sales at SuperGroup increased by 12.4% for the 11 weeks to January 10, driven by “record” online sales in the run-up to Christmas.
Retail sales climbed 17.8%. The company said Boxing Day sales were strong as the cold weather drove sales of outerwear and knitwear and there was a consistent performance across menswear and womenswear.
The group’s expected profit outcome for the full year of £60m to £65m remains unchanged.
Chief executive Euan Sutherland said: “Our upgraded infrastructure was tested to the full by Black Friday and in the busy lead-up to Christmas and has proven to be resilient and effective. A record performance from ecommerce combined with strong store operations led to what became a truly multichannel Christmas.”
