Online sales soar 42% at Inditex

Inditex, the parent company of Zara, has reported a 42% increase in online sales to a record €553m (£442m).

The Spanish business also increased its turnover to €16.7bn, up from €15.9bn last year, despite many other fashion businesses on the high street struggling.

Online sales only account for 3% of overall sales but represent 20% of the company’s growth over the past year, according to The Guardian.

Inditex, which also owns Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius and Bershka, currently has an online operation in 27 countries.
