Original Factory Shop saw like-for-like sales rise 3.7% for the 13 weeks ended January 4. Gross sales were up 22%.
Gross margin was ahead 100 basis points.
Original Factory Shop said it had seen its best ever Christmas because shoppers had been attracted to its value discount positioning.
Original Factory Shop chief executive Angela Spindler, who joined the retailer earlier this month, said: “The Original Factory Shop is winning in this tough retail environment by being fast and flexible, I am delighted to have joined at such an exciting time.”
Spindler added: “It is clear that 2009 will be a very challenging year for all retailers but our performance over the last 13 weeks is testament to our relevance in this climate. My challenge is to ensure we build on this momentum.”
