Original Factory Shop hires new chief executive

The Original Factory Shop has hired Tony Page as chief executive, taking over from Angela Spindler who is to join N Brown this summer.

Page joins from online cycling and tri-sports business Wiggle, but has spent 12 years of his career at Asda/Walmart, where he held a range of positions including non-food trading director for two years.

He has also been managing director of Lloyds Pharmacy and commercial and marketing director for Woolworths.

Chairman of The Original Factory Shop David Williams said: “Tony has extensive and relevant experience within UK retail and we are confident that he will successfully accelerate the company’s ambitious growth plans as we continue to invest in new convenience department stores, serving many small communities across the UK.”

Earlier this year, The Original Factory Shop unveiled a major revamp of its clothing offer, culling one label and introducing three new own brands.

Williams went on to thank Spindler for “her hard work and significant contribution to the business”.

Spindler will hand over to Page before joining N Brown this month.
