US brand Original Penguin is set to expand into womenswear for the first time.
According to reports, the international brand owned by Perry Ellis, will introduce its womenswear collection in autumn.
There are no immediate plans to wholesale the range and the brand has decided to focus on implementing the collection within its 48 global stores, four of which are in the UK.
It will also be sold online.
Social media in particular will play a big part in the brands marketing strategy for the collection, whereby the brand hope to find a number of brand ambassadors.
The collection will include outerwear, dresses, sweaters and skirts that complement the already established mens’ mix. Retail prices range from $125 (£78) to $189 (£118) for dresses, $198 (£124) to $298 (£186) for outwear, $89 (£56) to $110 (£69) for sweaters and $98 (£61) to $110 (£69) for skirts.
