Original Penguin to launch first Scottish store

US lifestyle brand Original Penguin is to continue its retail expansion and will open its first store in Scotland next month.

Original Penguin owner, the Perris Ellis Group, said following on from its “aggressive expansion” in Great Britain during 2011 the brand will continue to grow its retail portfolio.

The first Scottish store will open at the beginning of October in the Union Square Shopping Centre in Aberdeen.

Francisco Gonzalez-Meza Hoffmann, managing director of Perry Ellis Europe, said: “We have always had fantastic support from the Original Penguin fans in Scotland and whenever we have asked where we should open up a new store it has always been top of the list.  Aberdeen’s Union Square with its, central location, transport links and great brand adjacencies was the perfect fit for Original Penguin.”

Hoffmann added: “We plan to continue to expand our retail presence throughout Europe over the next few years in a controlled and strategic manner accessing individual market needs and reacting accordingly.”
