Oska ditches men’s range

Mainstream German brand Oska has ceased production of its menswear collection in order to concentrate on its womenswear.

The men’s collection, which had been produced since 1999, had about 20 stockists in the UK, while the women’s range has 280.

A spokeswoman for the brand said: “Unfortunately, the menswear range had become a luxury for us. We did not have enough volume to be in a position to buy the quality fabrics we wanted for the collection.”

The men’s range was sold in seven territories across Europe. For spring 09 the women’s collection focuses on light, feminine looks, with new fabrics and silhouettes key. The dress selection has been expanded to include straight and full styles, trousers come in 7/8 lengths and voluminous cuts and tops have square cuts and subtly defined waistlines.
