A raft of new labels will be jostling for attention at mainstream fashion exhibition Moda next week.
The show, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from August 11 to 13, will welcome 1,450 exhibitors including a host of brands launching in the UK.
Plus-size womenswear brand Lafei Nier will debut in the UK, 18 years after launching in its home country Ukraine.
Director Tetiana Ivanova said the brand, which has more than 100 pieces for spring 14 with wholesale prices from £14 for a T-shirt to £80 for heavy outerwear, hopes to target both independents and multiples at the show.
“Moda has a strong representation from our target market,” said Ivanova. “We’ve seen there is a gap in the market for fashionable plus-size clothing.”
Also new to the market is Dubai womenswear brand Shefali Couture. The collection comprises glamorous daytime and evening dresses using French chiffon, lace and metallic leather.
Menswear section Moda Gent will also host a selection of new exhibitors.
Lifestyle label Gant is joining the line-up for the first time, showcasing its spring 14 accessories.
Premium streetwear label Future Cut Cloths will launch at the show. Other new signings include Swedish brand Malmo London and contemporary label East Club London.
