Owen Owen boss saves remaining stores

Owen Owen's remaining department stores have been bought by managing director David Thompson. He beat other parties - understood to include Allders - to buy Lewis's in Liverpool, Robbs in Hexham and Joplings in Sunderland via new company Vergo Retail. Owen Owen went into administration in February and its Esslemont & MacIntosh store in Aberdeen shut this month.
