Australian contemporary womenswear brand Nevenka is seeking up to 15 stockists for its spring 11 UK wholesale launch.
The brand and its UK distributor, Scout, are understood to be in advanced negotiations with a number of retailers. It is targeting key department stores and contemporary independents.
Nevenka, founded by designer Rosemary Masic in 2006, has 25 accounts in Australia and a standalone store in Melbourne, as well as one stockist in the United Arab Emirates and one in Indonesia. Masic is planning to expand into Europe after establishing the brand in the UK, although it currently has no plans to open any further standalone stores.
Nevenka’s spring 11 “Gypsetter” collection comprises bohemian chic dresses in chiffon, silks and cotton that aim to be individual but affordable. Prices range from £75 to £100.
Masic said: “Nevenka is eclectic, fresh, European and passionate.
The hand-crafted feel and natural fibres mean the brand sits alongside labels such as Isabel Marant and Stella McCartney.”
Scout co-founder Catrina Jamie- son said: “Buyers tell us there’s a gap in the market for a feminine yet sexy dress-based collection, great for event dressing but which still works with the UK’s unpredictable climate. Nevenka covers these bases.”
