Colour specialist Pantone has launched a new tool it claims will help brands and retailers save money by making the right decisions on future colour trends.
PantoneView.com, a digital subscription service, provides information on colour forecasting including insight and analysis across different industries and territories worldwide. The site forecasts key colours six to 12 months ahead and looks forward to trends in the next few years.
Editor-in-chief David Shah said it would help brands planning new collections and retailers’ buying choices.
“Colour can be a lot of risk to take on because buying the fabric can cost a huge amount,” said Shah. “You need to be really ahead.
“Brands are using colour to refresh and we’ve got fashion businesses looking to redo their windows every week.”
Laurie Pressman, vice president of fashion, home and interiors at Pantone, added: “People want to get information whenever and wherever they are. With fast-fashion brands there is lots of opportunity for forecasts to help.”
A monthly subscription to the service costs £15.95, while annual membership is £104.95.
