Paul Weller looks to crowdfunding to expand clothing label

Singer Paul Weller has launched a crowdfunding campaign for his clothing label Real Stars Are Rare, which was founded in 2014 with retailer Phil Bickley.

The partners have achieved sales of £400,000 for their premium menswear brand to date and are seeking £400,000 investment to broaden the collection and distribution, revamp the website, add dedicated design and support functions, market the brand and for general corporate purposes.

The mod-inspired collection can currently be bought online and at Bickley’s store Tonic on Portobello Road in London. The firm said every garment is based on inspiration Weller has taken from a life-long interest in fashion and style and starts life sketched by him.
