Per Una: George Davies' farewell collection unveiled

Marks & Spencer unveiled George Davies' final collection for its Per Una sub-brand yesterday.

Marks & Spencer held a preview of the Per Una spring 09 collection yesterday but George Davies was understood to have been away on business in Sri Lanka.

The Per Una spring 09 range features light-blue denim flares and cropped denim jackets, tie-dye and grecian print maxi dresses along with a neutral pallette on trench coats and dresses, reflecting a safari theme.

Davies is retiring as Per Una's part-time chairman next month.

Davies launched his Per Una collection for M&S in September 2001 and today it is one of M&S most successful ventures, accounting for 25% of womenswear sales.
