Westgate Arcade at Queensgate in Peterborough is to undergo a £500,000 refurbishment to cement its position as a leading destination for independent retailers in the East Midlands.
The work will start in May and will include new signage, tiling and fascias, with a consistent look for shop fronts in a blue and grey colour scheme. Low energy and LED lighting will be installed.
“Westgate Arcade is a very important location within Queensgate, offering something different for visitors with its unique mix of retailers and the character of the arcade itself,” said Claire Yeadon, asset manager at Lend Lease, which manages the site with Invesco Real Estate.
There are 27 units in the arcade, which range from 148 sq ft to 1,776 sq ft in size, and a small number are vacant.
The company is in discussions with a number of new independent retailers to join the existing tenants, which include menswear independent Clues, men’s and womenswear store Maysons Spirit and womenswear independent Tahlia’s Closet and accessories independent Style.
