H&M and designer label Lanvin presented a lavish and star-studded runway show last night celebrating the imminent launch of their collaboration collection.
Lanvin and H&M presented an exclusive haute couture runway show with customized pieces from the Lanvin for H&M collection, modelled by Asia Chow, Pixie Geldof, Dree Hemingway, Olga and Anna Dello Russo.
Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz sent down the catwalk show stopping designs full of colour and Parisian glamour to a star studded crowd.
“It’s such a fantastic experience to see how creatively Alber Elbaz uses his designs to form a couture experience for our exclusive fashion show in New York” said Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M.
Sofia Coppola, Andie MacDowell, Emma Roberts, Leelee Sobieski, Anna Sui, Tory Burch and Alexander Wang were among the guests who turned up to enjoy the hotly anticipated collection which will be sold in around 200 stores worldwide starting November 20 in USA and Canada.
Coppola said of the collection: “I think Alber Elbaz is great, I love what he does at Lanvin, it’s so girly and playful and confident. It’s so cool he’s working with H&M, it makes it so accessible to all kinds of young people to be able to afford it and wear it”.
Looks from the haute couture show along with five original signed sketches from Alber Elbaz went up for auction on www.lanvinforhm.com. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to UNICEF, as part of H&M’s “All for Children” project. The online auction will end on November 26th at midnight CET.
Lanvin for H&M collection prices range from £7.99 for a lipstick to £199.99 for black sateen coat with jewelled buttons and detachable fur collar. The cocktail dresses will retail between £79.99-£149.99.
The collection will go on sale in the UK at 9am on November 23 both in shore and online at h&m.com . The collaboration also includes menswear, designed by Lucas Ossendrijver featuring ribbon trim blazers, classic lace-up shoes in 4 colour ways, tailored shirts, coats and bow ties.
