Pilati leaves Yves Saint Laurent for Zegna

Italian luxury fashion brand Ermenegildo Zegna has hired former Yves Saint Laurent creative director Stefano Pilati to head up its menswear and womenswear collections.

Italian designer Pilati, who was at Yves Saint Laurent from 2004 until his final collection in March this year, will bring his fashion and commercial credentials to Zegna’s menswear line as head of design from January 1.

He is also taking on the role of creative director of Agnona, the brand’s womenswear franchise.

Pilati’s first menswear collection at the helm of Zegna is believed to be for spring 14, showing next June alongside a Agnona cruise collection.
