Pink Soda appoints managing director

Young fashion brand Pink Soda has appointed former general manager of Columbia Sportswear Europe, John Evans, as managing director.

Evans has secured an equity stake in Pink Soda and will take up the role with immediate effect.

Evans has been charged with overseeing the growth of the Pink Soda wholesale business in Europe and north America.

Evans will also lead the brand's domestic retail plans and Pink Soda Boutique, the brand's higher priced line, will open its first standalone store in London in February next year.

Pink Soda creative director Robert Rose will retain an equity position in the business.

Evan said: "I am looking forward to initiating our new and exciting plans for 2009."

Pink Soda was established 25 years ago by entrepreneurs Robert Rose and David Solomon. The brand comprises the Pink Soda core line and the Pink Soda Boutique collection.

The brand is sold in department stores including Harrods, and independents retailers including Start in London, Psyche in Middlesborough and Attic in Aberdeen. The brand is also sold in overseas markets including France, Russia and Italy.
