Image-sharing website Pinterest will introduce a ‘buy’ button in the next couple of weeks, allowing retailers to promote products through the site.
A blue button will be used to signal to users that they can buy from the app, and the site will show prices, colours and other options.
Products will be paid for using Apple Pay or a credit card and Pinterest will store personal information but will not retain credit card details.
The site said buyable pins will initially be available from retailers including Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
Last week Google confirmed that its launch of a ‘buy’ button is imminent.
